E-Bike Technician
The course consists of two-week virtual allowing you to study the theory remotely in your own time and two days practical onsite learning.
The E-bike virtual phase is supported by the course tutors and includes theory presentations and online guided learning. Successful study of each virtual element is required before coming onsite.
The onsite phase is focused on practical work following your home guided learning. On completion of the course, you will have access to Bike Inn materials for 2 years. (This course does not include an IMI Qualification. If you wish to gain a unit certificate, it is possible but at an additional cost of £40.00)

Virtual Learning
Two weeks of the virtual learning phase and two days onsite practical assessment.
E-Bikes
An introduction to E-Bikes and conversion kits giving an overview on how they work.
Regulations
Applicable to the L1-L3 category of electric vehicles.
Electrical Theory
Learn how an E-Bike work the reasons why.
Motor Theory
Mid-Motor to Hub Motors, we delve into the how and why.
Battery Theory
Learn how a battery work and optimum performance setting.
E-Bike Specific Tools
Tools required in addition to ‘regular’ bikes
OEM Systems
OEM and aftermarket bike systems, the pro’s and cons.
Diagnostics
Diagnostics, fault finding, and the limits of economic commercial repairs and use of OEM diagnostics systems.
Strip and Rebuild
Strip and rebuild hub motors.
Final Assessment & Qualifications
The course culminates with a Bike Inn assessment, and if successful, a certificate of competence. If you would like a IMI Unit Certificate please let a member of staff know during your virtual learning. There is a additional cost of £40.00
