The Level 1 Cycle Maintenance Course at The Bike Inn Training (TBI) is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals of bicycle maintenance.
The Level 2 Cycle Mechanic Course provides the essential technical foundation required to begin working as a bicycle technician.
The Level 3 Cycle Technician Course is designed for mechanics who want to develop advanced workshop skills and deeper mechanical knowledge.

The Bike Inn has been delivering Professional Cycle Mechanic Training for over 35 years. A lot has changed over that time, and to keep current we run a commercial Bike Shop selling e-bikes, servicing, suspension and e-motor repairs.
We pass this commercial knowledge on through our training courses giving you an insight into real world problems and what type os issues you are likley to face as a cycle mechanic.
Five years on from training as a Cycle Mechanic at The Bike Inn, it's time to say "it changed my life". Straight after my training in May 2020 I started a part-time business in Durham, imaginatively named "Durham Bike Repairs".
Simply fantastic. I am so glad that I opted to undertake the Level 3 Professional Cycle Maintenance course at The Bike Inn recently. Jon, Mark, Henrietta and Fiona's professionalism, knowledge and passion for the subject was honestly infectious. The staff went above and beyond to teach us elements of the professional trade that were not necessarily covered in the Level 3 qualification. Years and years of valuable experience was shared, including Bike fitting tips; possible business models for those seeking to make a start in the trade; online content available for two years post-course and much, much more.
I’ve just completed The Bike Inn’s Level 3 Cycle Maintenance Course. The course was excellent! Great balance of content, well-focused training objectives, superb delivery by the instructional staff (whose ingrained professionalism, deep practical knowledge and perfectly pitched class interaction were instrumental in making the course the huge success that it was).
I attended The Bike Inn’s E-bike course in Appleby in November 2024 after a few hours of home learning during the preceding couple of weeks. I found the course to be well run and, highly informative and it opened my eyes to just how dysfunctional the current market place is for buying, obtaining spare parts and maintaining certain e-bikes. I learned a considerable amount about the different drive systems, how to investigate faults in each and as a result of the course, as well as a greater knowledge, I have expert contacts to help me with ongoing support with repair issues in this developing market.
